Throw Away Your Books, Rally in the Streets

Throw Away Your Books, Rally in the Streets Sho o Suteyo Machi e Dey is a 1971 Japanese featurelength experimental drama film directed by Shji Terayama. A metaphor for Japans descent into materialism, it follows a young mans disillusionment with the world around him and his determination to achieve something in life while his family members are content with their poor social and economic standing. It was Terayamas first featurelength film.
